Frown lines are the two vertical wrinkles that can form between the brows, one of the more common concerns people ask about in Vancouver. People call them the 11s, and the medical name for the area is the glabella. They come from furrowing the brow, concentrating, squinting, reacting to a bright day. Over the years that movement settles in.

Some people feel the lines make them look tense or tired even when they're not. If that's you, it's a fair thing to ask about. The conversation is where we start. Before any product, you sit down with a licensed injector and walk through the area, what you're hoping for, and whether treatment is the right call at all.

We're in Fairview, a block from Kitsilano.

Our Approach

One rule shapes everything we do: you should still look like you.

The brow area is where an overdone result shows up first. Our aim is a softer, rested look that still moves like your face, not a smooth patch that reads as work done.

It's the reason the consultation comes first, the reason we start measured, and the reason we'd rather you do less than too much. Subtle isn't a compromise here. It's the whole point.

About Frown Line Treatment in Vancouver

The 11s are one of the more common things people ask us about. They're also one we talk through carefully before anyone books, because plenty of our consultations end with a suggestion to start smaller, wait, or skip it for now. The consultation matters more than the appointment.

The 11s tend to be movement-driven. For a lot of people they deepen with concentration, screen time, and squinting into bright light, then ease off when the brow relaxes. For others the lines start to sit there even at rest. The glabella is also a compact, busy area between the brows, which is why it's assessed on its own terms. At a consultation a licensed injector watches how the brow draws together, how deep the lines run, and how the area looks when your face is still.

When treatment is the right tool for the brow area, the options discussed may include a neuromodulator. At FaceCrime the neuromodulators we work with are Botox, Dysport, and Nuceiva. They're named here so you know what's available, not because one is right for everyone. Which option, if any, suits you is decided in person with a licensed injector, after your medical history and your goals have been talked through openly.

The appointment itself is short, usually 15 to 30 minutes. Most people find any discomfort minimal, and there's little to no downtime for most. You can stop or pause at any point.

Neuromodulators such as Botox, Dysport, and Nuceiva are prescription medical products. They are offered following an assessment and are not appropriate for everyone. Suitability, product selection, and pricing are determined in consultation with a licensed injector.

Other Approaches We May Discuss

Neuromodulators are one option among several. Depending on what your assessment shows, other approaches available at FaceCrime may also be discussed. Which of these, if any, suits you is decided in person with a licensed practitioner.

What to Expect at FaceCrime

The glabella is a small, busy patch between the brows, and it's the spot where an overdone result gets noticed first. That's why we're deliberately conservative here and would rather revisit than overdo it. FaceCrime is a small, personalized Skin Lab in Fairview, built around the idea that aesthetics work best when they're considered and connected to your broader health. We don't say that to sound good. It's how the place actually runs.

  • Treatments performed by licensed injectors in a regulated medical environment
  • The brow watched as it draws together, not only viewed at rest
  • Options talked through openly during your appointment, with no push to proceed
  • A calm, judgment-free clinic in Vancouver
  • A naturopathic team in the same building, since skin and internal health are connected

Skin reflects what's happening inside. For some of our clients, that's where the real conversation starts. If you're curious about how internal physiology and aesthetics connect, take a look at our naturopathic aesthetics write-up, or bring it up at your consultation.

The Process

01

Consultation

We sit down first. Medical history, what you're hoping for, and how the brow draws together when you frown, concentrate, or squint. If treatment isn't the right call for you right now, we say so.

02

Planning

If it is the right call, we look at how deep the 11s run and how the brow moves, then walk through options and what's realistic for a compact area like the glabella. Nothing happens until the plan makes sense to you.

03

Treatment

The appointment is short, usually 15 to 30 minutes. A very fine needle is used in the area between the brows, and you're awake, aware, and can stop at any point.

04

Aftercare

Simple written aftercare to take home. Because the full effect settles over about two weeks, we suggest waiting until then before judging the result.

Other Areas People Ask About

The 11s often come up alongside other areas in Vancouver. These are the ones we get asked about most, all part of the same consultation-first conversation.

Frown Line FAQs

What are frown lines, or the 11s?

They're the vertical lines that form between the brows, sometimes called the 11s or glabella lines. They come from everyday expression combined with time and natural changes to skin. At a consultation we assess them individually.

What are the options for frown lines?

Options are discussed with a licensed injector at your consultation and depend on your features and goals. Some people explore a neuromodulator such as Botox, Dysport, or Nuceiva; others consider other approaches. Which option, if any, suits you is decided together.

Will I look frozen?

Our approach keeps results subtle and grounded in how your face moves. What's realistic for you is planned around your features, and we'll be honest about what to expect before anything is decided.

Is there any downtime?

For most people there's little to no downtime, though this varies. Some minor bruising at the injection sites is possible. Your injector talks you through what to expect for your specific plan.

How much does treatment cost?

Pricing depends on the plan agreed at your consultation, since it varies by the approach and the amount used. You'll know the full cost before anything is booked. See our Botox cost page.

How do I book a consultation?

Book online or call us at (604) 676-1808. We're at 1765 W 8th Ave, Unit 105 in Fairview, a block from Kitsilano. The first conversation is the most important one. We'd be glad to have it with you.

Come Talk to Us

The consultation is the place to ask anything. Bring your questions, your hesitations, the things you've read online and aren't sure about. The conversation is where we figure out whether treatment is right for you, and whether we're the right clinic to do it.
