Filler dissolving is a service for people who have had hyaluronic acid filler placed before and would like some or all of it reduced. People come in because filler has moved from where it was originally placed, because an area feels overfilled, or simply because they'd like to return closer to their starting point before deciding what comes next.
Plenty of our consultations end with a suggestion to wait, to treat a small area only, or to revisit the conversation in a few months. The consultation matters more than the appointment. Whether dissolving is appropriate for you, and how much, is assessed in person by a licensed injector. Every face and every previous treatment is different, so there is no single approach that fits everyone.
The appointment itself is short. In some cases an area may settle over more than one visit, and your injector will be straightforward with you about that rather than promising a single-session fix. You can pause or stop at any point.

We sit down first. Your previous filler, what's prompting you to consider dissolving, and what you're hoping for. If dissolving isn't the right call, we say so.
Planning
If it's appropriate, we walk through the approach together, including whether more than one visit may be needed. Nothing happens until you feel good about the plan.
Treatment
Numbing may be applied for comfort. The treatment itself is short once you're settled. You're awake, you're aware, and you can stop at any point.
Aftercare

What about migrated lip filler?
Migrated or uneven lip filler is the single most common reason people ask about dissolving. Your injector will look at what's going on, talk through what you're hoping for, and explain whether dissolving makes sense and what the visit would involve. Nothing proceeds until you're comfortable with the plan.
Can filler under the eyes be dissolved?
The under-eye area is a common reason people come in, often because filler there looks fuller or shows differently than hoped. It's a delicate area, so your injector assesses it carefully and works conservatively. Whether it's appropriate, and how much to do, is decided with you at the consultation.
Does it work on every type of filler?
Dissolving is relevant to hyaluronic acid fillers. Some other filler materials work differently. Part of the consultation is reviewing what you've had placed before so your injector can advise you accurately.
Do I need to know exactly what I had done before?
It helps if you have records, but it's not a barrier to booking. Bring whatever information you have and the team will take it from there during your assessment.
Will it take more than one session?
Sometimes. Depending on the area and your goals, an area may settle over more than one visit. Your injector will be straightforward with you about what to expect rather than promising a single-session result.
Can a small lump or unevenness be addressed?
Sometimes people are bothered by a small area rather than a whole result. That's worth a conversation. Your injector will assess the area in person and discuss whether a focused approach is appropriate for your situation.
Is there a way to reduce filler without treatment?
Hyaluronic acid filler may soften on its own over time, so in some cases waiting is a reasonable option. How long that takes varies a lot by person and area. Part of the consultation is talking through whether waiting or treating makes more sense for you, with no pressure either way.
Can I have new filler afterward?
Many people do choose to revisit filler later. The timing depends on your individual situation, and your injector will discuss an appropriate waiting period with you rather than rushing into anything.
What kind of swelling should I expect?
Some swelling, tenderness, and possible bruising in the first 24 to 72 hours is normal. Most of it has settled within about two weeks. You'll go home with written instructions, and you can call us if anything looks off in between.
