We keep three options available so the choice can actually be made about you. Sometimes that means Dysport. Sometimes it does not, and sometimes it means nothing at all for now.

Dysport is a brand name. Its proper name is abobotulinumtoxinA, and it belongs to the group of injectable products generally referred to as neuromodulators. At FaceCrime it is one of three we work with, alongside Botox and Nuceiva.
It is named on this page so you know what is available here, which is what most people are actually trying to find out when they search for it. Beyond that, there is very little a clinic in Canada is permitted to publish about a prescription product, and there is a good reason for the rule. What a medication does, who it suits, and what it might mean for you are not things that can be responsibly settled by a web page. They need someone looking at you.
Dysport or Botox: how the choice actually gets made
This is the question we are asked more than any other, and the honest answer is less satisfying than the comparison charts online suggest. There is no ranking. These are different products, not better and worse ones, and a clinic telling you otherwise on a website is selling rather than assessing.
What your injector weighs up in the room is your medical history, anything you have had done before and how you responded to it, the area being discussed, your features, and what you have said you want. Two people can walk in asking the same question and leave with different plans, and neither of them got the lesser option.
If you have had a neuromodulator elsewhere and were not happy with how it went, bring that. It is genuinely useful information and it often shapes the conversation more than anything else you could tell us.
What to Expect at FaceCrime
We are a small, personalized Skin Lab rather than a high volume clinic, and that shows up mostly in how long the first appointment takes. Nobody is moved through. If the honest answer is that you should wait, or start smaller, or not do this at all right now, that is what you will hear.

Consultation
Medical history first, then what you are hoping for, then a proper look at how your face moves. If you have had treatment elsewhere, this is where that history matters.
Choosing
Your injector talks through the options available and which fits the plan being discussed, and why. You are not asked to pick a product off a menu.
Treatment
Short, usually 15 to 30 minutes. A very fine needle is used, and you are awake, aware, and free to stop at any point.
Aftercare
Simple written aftercare to take home, and a follow-up window your injector will set with you rather than a fixed date for everyone.

What is Dysport?

How is Dysport different from Botox?
They are different products rather than better and worse ones, and there is no ranking we could publish that would be meaningful for you specifically. Which option suits you depends on your history, your features, the area being discussed, and what you are hoping for. That is worked through in person.
Can I ask for Dysport specifically?
You can absolutely say what you have read and what you were hoping for, and it is useful for us to know. What we will not do is skip the assessment because a product was requested. If Dysport fits the plan you and your injector agree on, that is the conversation. If something else fits better, you will hear why.
How much does Dysport cost?
Pricing is confirmed at your consultation. Neuromodulators are not all dosed the same way, so per-unit figures across different products are not directly comparable and quoting one against another tends to mislead more than it helps. I had a neuromodulator elsewhere and did not like it. Is that worth mentioning?
Very much so. It is one of the most useful things you can bring to a first appointment. What was done, roughly when, and what you did not like about it all help shape a more careful plan, and it often changes the conversation more than anything else.
Is there any downtime?
For most people there is little to none, though this varies. Some minor bruising at the injection sites is possible. Your injector will talk you through what to expect for your specific plan.
